Parrots are very curious birds and they are not timid. They will often watch us walk by when feeding in family groups or pairs. The strength in their beaks and claws is oustanding. They can crack pine cones with their beaks for the seeds, or dig into tree trunks for grubs, so other birds tend to leave them alone. They are happy to live in Metropolitan areas where gardens and lawns provide abundant food sources.
Parrots can be a real nuisance, digging… over gardens or nibbling window surrounds. They live in small flocks and once one finds a food source the whole group moves in. If you find one looking through your window shoo it away.
