About this artwork
It reveals the fabric or porcelain flowers found on the tombs of the Père-Lachaise cemetery.
Placed there for decades, these flowers, now objects, bear witness to the traces of time through their faded colors.
Symbols of love, they defy evanescence.
In the beginning was a life.
A life lived, a life gone - and now only the flowers remain.
At first glance,… the works in the Leftovers series appear carefree, rich in color, perhaps even too vibrant.
But don't be fooled by first impressions: on closer inspection, you can see a hint of sadness - that silent melancholy that is expressed through them.
