About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to work with fragmentation as a language. I took pieces of weathered wood, each with its own history of erosion and scarring, and transformed them into a medium for an image that already speaks of touch, presence, and humanity. I worked with photographic emulsion on weathered wood, a medium that allows me to unite the fragility of the image with the roughness of the material. For me, "Rescue" is a metaphor for the human connection…
in its most essential form: we have all needed to be held at some point, and we have all reached out to someone else. The emulsion, the wood, and the fragmentation allow me to show that this act is not clean or perfect, but rough, vulnerable, and deeply human.

Salva Nebot (Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in international institutions, galleries, and art fairs.
