About this artwork
This photograph was made in the framework of the project ‘fleeting rooms’, an exploration of our perception of space. When darkness falls in, we perceive places in a different way, we become aware of our own blindness.
Exploring an isolated birch forest with a torch light, Sarah Janssen captured the contrast between the thin white trunks and the seemingly endless black void surrounding them.
This work is a giclee print with archival ink on Hahnemühle… Fine Art paper, mounted on 3mm thick dibond, ready to hang. The photo is mounted in a black wooden floater frame.

The German media artist Sarah Janssen was born in Nordhorn in 1986 and has lived in the Netherlands since 2005. After her Art and Crossmedia Design and Interactive Media and Environments degree course, the several times nominee and excellent artist devotes herself to the techniques of photography, video and installation.
