About this artwork

Crafted from all resin, this is an example of a 3D wall sculpture featuring color-shifting pigments, glow-in-the-dark colors and UV Neon pigments. Commissioned for a child's bedroom, this fantastical art was created using 12 different individual handcrafted elements, each made from 4-5 layers of colorful resin. The black of space was then poured around the elements leaving a true 3D effect as each element juts out from the background creating incredible… depth, detail and texture.
The star-field is composed of 3 separate layers as well, with stars on each layer to give it depth. The stars use color-shifting resin to make them appear to "twinkle" as you view them.

All the woods are locally sourced from either distressed timber from self-fallen trees or harvested from diseased trees that would otherwise go to waste, and the lumber is up-cycled, recycled or reclaimed boards. I also follow the NO-WASTE WOODWORKING® philosophy.
