About this artwork

It was created from a single piece of western red alder, where 3 main branches grew from the main trunk. As the tree grows, wood pushes against wood and the grain starts to move and buckle in different directions.… This creates chatoyance, where the wood shimmers in the light and looks like waves of liquid and increases the beauty and desirability of finished pieces.
Weighing 5 lb, this is a substantial piece and not thin and light Mohave At Midnight will become the focal point of wherever it is displayed. Includes an engraved brass tag with Name, Serial#, Date and Artists signature.
