About this artwork

In this piece, I embraced the warm Juniper wood’s intricate grain with the glowing, fluid energy of resin. I aimed to capture growth and transformation, creating a tactile harmony that invites curiosity and warmth. This sculpture will bring a calming yet invigorating energy to any space, a small breath of organic life frozen in mesmerizing motion. This beautiful emerald green and Juniper burl large wood bowl has a classic shape with elegant flowing… lines and a wrap-around live edge. This commissioned work made the client extremely happy as the burl held some sentimental significance. The 360 degree view of the live edge is the most beautiful feature. Completing the look are pockets of shimmering mica that settled into the live edge during casting, helping to enunciate the iridescent effect and adding another layer of definition. Although this piece is sold, if you or a family member have saved any odd or unique wood, We specialize in creating heirloom quality functional art.

All the woods are locally sourced from either distressed timber from self-fallen trees or harvested from diseased trees that would otherwise go to waste, and the lumber is up-cycled, recycled or reclaimed boards. I also follow the NO-WASTE WOODWORKING® philosophy.
