About this artwork
The canvas is constructed like a Cubist enigma: broken lines, flat areas of ochre and yellow, and within this geometric labyrinth, a woman's body can be discerned, fragmented and recomposed. Forms collide, volumes break apart, and it is in this tension that a raw, almost carnal sensuality emerges.
I wanted to play with the letter, with the idea of a body alphabet. "F as in…" becomes a pretext for exploring femininity, the fragmentation of the image,… and the multiplicity of perspectives. Here, I affirm my desire to blur certainties, to let the viewer complete the word, as one fulfills a desire.
