About this artwork
This artwork was inspired by my travels through Vietnam, where I saw women adorned with vibrant yellow Mai blossoms.
The Hoa Mai flower, a symbol of prosperity and new beginnings, is traditionally worn during Tết celebrations.
I was drawn to the striking contrast of the golden petals against their richly colored garments.
The bold red background echoes the festive spirit and cultural warmth I witnessed there.
This painting captures a quiet moment… where tradition, color, and identity intertwine.
