About this artwork
I painted “The Sacred Plants” as part of a ceremonial invocation of the sacred directions, inspired by the teachings that remind us of the holiness of all living things. This piece honours the intelligence of nature, the way life emerges from a single seed, nurtured by sunlight, water, and the living body of the Earth.
In this painting, the sun and earth merge as one, representing the eternal relationship between light and matter. From their union… arise trees, vines, fungi, and flowering plants, each a symbol of growth, connection, and reciprocity. The work celebrates the mycelial network of life and how everything on Earth communicates, breathes, and evolves together.
Through colour and form, “The Sacred Plants” becomes both an offering and a reminder: that the natural world is sacred, sentient, and endlessly creative, a mirror of our own spiritual emergence.
