About this artwork
I started with an inspiration from images of marble stone slabs. The colors and shapes in the painting began to form very intuitively however. It’s possible that there are some latent Picasso qualities in this piece; and maybe a touch of O’Keefe too. The whole process was a joy. I will not mention how many art “rules” I broke.

United States
I have lived in many places in the world. Travel to Africa, Jamaica, and Europe formed the foundation of early artistic and cultural influences in my artwork. Exposure to a broad range of art at a young age was a major inspiration for the direction of my life and career. Later, I attended an arts high school in Dallas, TX and began studying painting, drawing and crafts. I moved to San Francisco at age 17 where I studied painting and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
I consider myself a globally influenced artist and express myself through painting and photography.
I am inspired by nature and want to create something beautiful in my work. I enjoy taking the initial visual impression a bit further using my own style and techniques. Almost all of my work is landscape painting and photography, with an emphasis on lighting which I think is essential and transformative.
