This photograph explores the compressed vertical spaces of Venice, where architecture, light, and shadow create a quiet tension between openness and enclosure. Rising facades guide the eye upward toward fragments of sky and sculptural details that briefly emerge from the dense urban fabric.
I was drawn to the dialogue between the warm weathered surfaces and the luminous white stone illuminated by afternoon light. The narrow passage transforms familiar… architecture into a more intimate and almost abstract experience of rhythm, texture, and proportion.
Rather than emphasizing spectacle, my approach remains attentive and observational, allowing atmosphere and subtle tonal relationships to shape the image. Venice reveals itself here through layers of history, erosion, and reflected light quietly embedded within everyday space.
