About this artwork
The work is created on fine 300 gsm Fabriano cotton paper. The size of the work refers to the sheet used. The resulting image is slightly smaller to allow for the continuity of the image when framed.
In this type of work, I try to capture the fleeting essence of light, as if it were a memory emerging from behind fogged glass. The image is intentionally blurred and undefined, because I'm not interested in the form, but in the sensation it evokes.…
Through a web of signs and overlappings, like nets, like windows veiled in condensation, a luminous side can always be glimpsed, a presence that resists opacity. Light becomes the silent protagonist: it filters, hides, and then resurfaces, simultaneously revealing and concealing. It is a dialogue between transparencies and barriers, between the visible and the intuitable.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
