About this artwork
The work is created on fine 300 gsm Fabriano cotton paper. The size of the work given refers to the sheet used. The resulting image is slightly smaller to allow for continuity when framed.
In this work, I wanted to explore the power of the essential line, letting the splashes of color speak for themselves. The black expands across the surface like a living, dense presence, contrasting with the lighter, more textured areas. I'm interested in the… tension between control and chance, between intentional gesture and what happens spontaneously on the support. Material here takes center stage: the textures, the layers, the imperfections are the work's skin.
In the minimalism of this composition I find a fragile balance, a sort of interior landscape where silence and the density of color coexist.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
