About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to recount, through my sensitivity and visual language, the extraordinary moment in 1969 when man set foot on the moon. I chose to start with original clippings from the Epoca newspaper, an authentic symbol of the era, to restore the living and tangible memory of that event that marked the history of humanity.
On an abstract base, I rearranged the fragments of paper and words as if they were satellites of a thought, elements… of an emotional collage that vibrates with colors, gestures, and signs. Red, yellow, and green intertwine with the black-and-white images, creating a dialogue between past and present, between information and suggestion.
A journey into everyone's memory: a reflection not only on the conquest of space, but also on self-discovery, on human limits and horizons.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
