About this artwork
This work is inspired by the red, white and grey fields of the Istrian region. I painted with acrylic on canvas, onto which I then glued pieces of textile treated with plaster and cement, so that these parts are slightly protruding and unique in their rough texture. The painting is an interesting combination of a painterly stroke with paint and glued parts that slightly protrude into space.

I am a visual artist and painter based in Rijeka, Croatia.
Painting is at the centre of my practice, where I explore the space between abstraction and figuration, memory, emotion and intuition.
My work often begins with familiar forms, objects and fragments of everyday experience, which gradually transform through colour, gesture and painterly process. I am interested in the moment when an image moves beyond literal representation and becomes more ambiguous, emotional and open to interpretation.
For me, painting is a process of exploration, introspection, and freedom.
Alongside my artistic practice, I work as an art educator. Since 2008, I have participated in numerous selected and juried exhibitions and held several solo exhibitions in Croatia and internationally. I have received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Grand Prix at the International Painting Ex Tempore in Grožnjan, Croatia.
I am a member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists Rijeka (HDLU Rijeka).
