About this artwork
The borders of British Columbia, Canada's westernmost province, are defined by the Pacific coast and mountain ranges. Mount Assiniboine (3,618 m above sea level) is a mountain in the Canadian Rockies, located on the border of the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Due to its pyramidal shape, it is commonly called the Matterhorn of North America. August 5, 2020
With this work, I wanted to capture the intensity and serenity of wild nature,… using vibrant brushstrokes and deep colors. Oil paint allowed me to express the light dancing on the mountains and the reflections on the water, conveying a sense of peace and wonder. I want the viewer to feel the pure energy and magic of an unforgettable landscape.
Silvano Crespi is a painter with a background in Political Science and a deep passion for oil painting, born from his study of the great European masters of the 18th and 19th centuries. He uses a reflective, introspective, and post-Impressionist technique, characterized by broad areas of color, a focus on light and shadow, vibrant colors, and perspectives that evoke infinity. His works, imbued with natural landscapes and atmospheric influences, convey an intense emotion of silent contemplation, celebrating the fleeting nature of time and the eternal relationship between the individual and the universe.
