About this artwork
This series brings together fragments of sliced stones, revealing their inner patterns and a portion of their outline. By cutting through the material, the eye discovers the pebble's intimate geology—its lines, its veins, its invisible densities. Each piece becomes a mineral landscape, both massive in nature and fragile in thickness.
By drilling holes in them, it becomes possible to thread a rope through them: the tension of the thread, by simple… friction, ensures the suspension of the stone. This elementary system of support defies gravity and plays with the perception of weight. Suspended like this, these thin slices almost seem to float, as if the very solidity of the mineral allowed air to pass through it.
