Having abandoned the bright tones of recent years, in this 2015 work the darker shades are the protagonists, as is the greater attention to the materiality of the cracked and wrinkled surfaces.
Starting from the material effects and the color used, which evoke the surface of the moon, the title "Space Oddity" recalls a David Bowie song with multiple meanings: it's a story about a fictional astronaut, inspired by Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey,"… which explores loneliness and alienation in the universe. The viewer is invited to do the same, delving into a personal reflection on the topic.
The energy of this work will bring a sense of mystery and reflection into your home, inviting you to discover new meanings in every glance.
