About this artwork
"Blue Rhythm N.2" is a deeply personal piece—part of my Blues Collection, where I explore the subtle, powerful rhythms that shape our lives. With each brushstroke, I followed a feeling rather than a plan. The vertical energy, the layered flow, the deep, resonant blues—they speak to the movement we carry within. Sometimes slow, sometimes urgent, always real.
As an emerging artist who transitioned from three decades of leadership in the tech world… into the raw honesty of painting, this work marks another beat in my journey. It’s offered not just as an artwork, but as an invitation—to feel the rhythm, to trust it, and to rise with it.

Sonia J. is a contemporary abstract painter whose work operates beyond the white cube. Her practice explores large-scale abstract painting through repetition, vertical rhythm, and material restraint, creating works with strong architectural and symbolic presence. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media on canvas, she develops paintings that privilege duration and sustained attention over immediate visual impact. Silence functions as a structural condition, allowing the work to coexist with architectural, institutional, and private spaces without becoming decorative. Her paintings maintain autonomy across exhibitions, architectural environments, and contemporary interiors. Scale, surface, and layered accumulation are central to her process. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and is held in private collections. She lives and works in Europe. Former C-level Suite in the Technology Industry.
