The holy heptagon / 7 = 3 + 4
What strikes us in this biblical story of creation is the "seven-day-scheme", which is, however, completely uncommented and assumed in Genesis. Above all, the meaning of the highlighted seventh day remains largely in the dark. But what is meant objectively with the sanctification of this day?
Let's list the important features of the number 'seven':
The seven is the addition of three and four, of mind and soul on… the one hand and body on the other, that is, the human.
In the traditional Christian numerical symbolism of the Middle Ages, the three represents the soul created in the image of the triune God and all spiritual things (Trinity). The four is the number of elements and is therefore symbolic of the material things that, according to ancient belief, all result from the combination of the four elements.
