About this artwork
Opus VI – Galloping Inferno is a powerful mixed media painting where two horses made of light and motion seem to burst out of a field of structured geometry. Against a dramatic palette of deep blue, glowing yellows, and muted tones, the silhouettes of the horses emerge from within layered blocks, lines, and textures – as if energy itself has taken on the form of galloping figures.
Created with acrylic paint and modeling paste on canvas, this piece… has a rich, tactile surface. The modeling paste builds depth and relief, so that certain areas catch the light differently, enhancing the sense of movement and heat. The horses feel both abstract and recognizable, appearing and disappearing as the viewer steps closer or further away.
With this work, I wanted to explore the tension between raw instinct and constructed order – how wild energy moves through the grids and structures we place around it. The precise blocks and controlled lines suggest stability and control.

My name is Sotiris Christodoulou, a Greek contemporary artist working primarily with acrylics on canvas.
After many life experiences and personal storms at the age of 52, I made a clear decision: to dedicate myself fully to what I have always loved most — creating.
My work explores rhythm, geometry, balance, and energetic connections through abstract compositions. Each piece is part of my ongoing Opus series, where form and color interact like a living visual language.
I began this focused artistic journey recently, and within a short period I have completed multiple original works, each one reflecting growth, discipline, and passion.
