About this artwork
Opus XIX– Architectonic Orbit is an abstract mixed media painting on a 70x100 cm canvas, created on a black base with raised concentric circles in modeling paste and metallic dot formations. The work combines structured geometry with layered surface texture to create strong visual depth and a sense of movement across the composition.
The metallic zones transition through silver, blue, turquoise, green, bronze, olive, copper, and dark green, giving… the painting a rich tonal sequence that leads the eye toward the center. The black background intensifies the metallic surfaces and enhances the contrast, making the work shift noticeably under different lighting conditions.
Additional silver textures on the side areas create a subtle nebula-like effect, while scratched linear details add movement and variation. The painting is both contemporary and atmospheric, offering a balance of precision, texture, and luminous presence.

My name is Sotiris Christodoulou, a Greek contemporary artist working primarily with acrylics on canvas.
