Through this work, I wanted to redraw the London skyline, imbuing it with a graphic soul. This iconic view of the London Eye and Big Ben is not simply a photographic capture, but a personal reinterpretation born from my neo-pictorialist vision.
I used my "Photo Sketch" technique to sculpt the light and enhance the contrasts of this monumental structure. Armed with my stylus, I manually reworked each area, each line, and each detail to give the… metal and clouds this textured finish, somewhere between photographic realism and the precision of charcoal drawing.
In this interplay of light and shadow, the wheel seems to spring to life with a new energy, while Westminster Abbey looms in the background like a memory etched in time. For me, it's the perfect tribute to the architectural complexity of this city, where every detail matters.
Stéphane Rouillard is a self-taught photographer, passionate about the fusion of digital technology and manual technique, whose artistic education was built on experimentation and observation of urban architecture, particularly in Dijon. He has developed his signature style through digital Neo-Pictorialism with his innovative "Sketchy Photo" technique, a hybrid of photography, drawing, engraving, and graphic arts, oscillating between textured black and white and painterly colors. His works invite sensitive contemplation, revealing the hidden poetry of places and the intimate resonance of light.
