This image, No. 31, from November 2022, thrives on a deliberate and powerful use of color. The vibrant yellow dominates as the primary color, generating a strong visual energy through its high luminosity and warmth. It stands in maximum contrast to the deep black, making the composition appear particularly radiant and dynamic – a classic principle of color theory that enhances brightness and attention.
The large, radiant circle with its yellow and… black rays uses simultaneous contrast to make the yellow shine even more intensely. The turquoise accents in the central grid act as a cool counter-color to the warm yellow and create an additional point of color that draws the eye to the center.
Clear black lines and ornamental flourishes in the lower section lend structure and tranquility to the composition, while the vibrant yellow provides movement and joie de vivre. The result is a balanced, energetic, and graphically powerful work.
