About this artwork
In "Breakup," I start from that moment when a relationship unravels without completely disappearing. Forms separate, intersect, and clash, yet they continue to respond to one another. Some remain close, while others already seem to be taking a new direction. Through collage, I try to make visible what remains after the breakup: fragments, tensions, and traces of the connection. The work speaks as much of the separation itself as of the difficulty…
of truly detaching oneself.

Stéphanie Bardy works primarily with collage, drawing on a rich background spanning Parisian art schools and experience in children's publishing. Her works are contemporary abstract art, with intuitive, graphic compositions that combine the power of geometric shapes with the vibrancy of bold colors. She cuts, assembles, and superimposes each fragment like a musical score, balancing symmetry and freedom. Her art invites contemplation and a silent, personal dialogue, seeking to make the invisible perceptible, while conveying intense emotions and poetry beyond narrative.
