About this artwork
In "Convergence No. 1", the forms seem to come from different directions. They advance, cross paths and eventually meet around the same point, like trajectories that have found a common place.
I am not trying to blend them together. Each retains its color, shape, and presence. The reds, blues, purples, and greens assert their differences, but nevertheless manage to create a balance.
With this work, I speak of encounter when it doesn't require… us to renounce who we are. Converging isn't about becoming alike. It's about finding the possibility of moving forward together.
