Joseph Campbell’s interpretation of Medusa as a symbol of collective shock and the end of civilizations resonates here, as the chaotic underwater scene becomes a mirror to our own sociological trauma. In a time when Campbell insisted the only myth worth telling is one about the planet, this work becomes both elegy and warning—a surreal requiem for the reefs and a call to confront the myth we are living.
