About this artwork
And suddenly there it is, the pond. In the middle of a clearing in the forest. Overgrown and surrounded by lots of grass, the water surface is only visible in a few places. Moss, ferns, dead wood, tree trunks and branches of fallen trees, only partially protruding from the water. The glaring light falls through the treetops onto the clearing and creates patches of light and shadow that invite you to take a closer look. The bright blue of the sky…
flashes through the canopy of the trees, reflecting in the shine of the water. After a while of silence and pause, we dive back into the twilight of the forest, continuing on our way, leaving the pond and the clearing behind us. The picture was painted with acrylic on canvas and covered with a matte varnish.

Susanne Stahr lives in the Frankfurt area. In addition to mathematics, she studied art education with a focus on painting. Painting and drawing have been a part of her life since childhood. She discovered her talent for drawing at an early age and, at the age of 10, found herself taking portrait painting classes for adults. She has pursued her creativity professionally and continues to guide children in their creative development. She also works as a freelance artist. Her current focus is on exploring colors and color nuances, which find their form in both abstract painting and the realization of motifs from nature, animals, and plants.
