In this work, I have fused acrylic, wood and cardboard to create an assemblage sculpture that evokes rebirth and the complexity of nature. Rich textures and organic shapes capture dynamic energy, symbolizing new and powerful germination. It is a tribute to the persistence of life and its ability to overcome adversities. This piece would bring an inspiring and revitalizing presence to any living space, evoking contemplation and admiration of natural… force. The sculpture is signed under the base.
Sylvie BERTON, self-taught artist, is fascinated by the way nature reclaims its rights over our civilization and it is this idea that we find mainly in all her works (paintings and sculptures). Recycling is an integral part of her work and to highlight her ideas she uses used packaging boxes, bottle caps, coffee grounds and all kinds of shells...but it is especially the eggshell that is omnipresent in her works because she is fascinated by its symbolism: at the same time at the origin of everything, the egg is also a representation of chaos (cycle of death and rebirth, destruction and reconstruction). Despite the sad observation that no civilization is eternal, Sylvie Berton remains positive and firmly believes that things can change by respecting our environment and keeping in mind that we are all part of the same whole.
