About this artwork
In this work, we still find the staircase that symbolizes the path to oneself, to one's heart (red window and intense light here). The goal is to find oneself, to learn to love oneself in one's entirety (qualities but also what we call defects and which nevertheless served to protect us in certain moments of fragility). If we are in love then we are no longer in fear. So embark with me on this long path of love :-)
The edges are painted white.
Sylvie BERTON, self-taught artist, is fascinated by the way nature reclaims its rights over our civilization and it is this idea that we find mainly in all her works (paintings and sculptures). Recycling is an integral part of her work and to highlight her ideas she uses used packaging boxes, bottle caps, coffee grounds and all kinds of shells...but it is especially the eggshell that is omnipresent in her works because she is fascinated by its symbolism: at the same time at the origin of everything, the egg is also a representation of chaos (cycle of death and rebirth, destruction and reconstruction). Despite the sad observation that no civilization is eternal, Sylvie Berton remains positive and firmly believes that things can change by respecting our environment and keeping in mind that we are all part of the same whole.
