About this artwork
Violence against women is not women's fault. Femicide, as the highest form of patriarchy, is predictable, it is not a "family drama" or a moment of loss of control. The spiral of violence has clearly defined phases, and it can and MUST be broken by informing, communicating and supporting women and society as a whole.
The painting depicts an expression of pain from an oppressed woman, where a man's shoe presses her to the ground.
Stigmatization… of victims must be abolished in order to offer women ways to escape the spiral of violence.
Raised in an artistic family, Tamara Berger works primarily in oil on canvas, but also mixes with acrylic and other media. With styles ranging from realism to abstraction, her vibrant works illustrate themes of femininity, gender and power, inspired by Judith Butler's theories. Her art, an embodiment of empowerment and equality, creates a powerful image that challenges traditional gender roles.
