About this artwork
This is the last of a series of three. Viewing the earth while in flight is always amazing to me. It changes your perspective on the effects of humans. The elements of this planet. The topography etched by those elements and humans. We want to exclude ourselves, claim a seat closer to God; but we are a force of nature. Earth displays our endeavors.

« Thrive in the struggle, that is the key to enjoying life. That is success in the pursuit of excellence. »
Ted Washington is an award-winning American draftsman whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He employs stippling techniques in the creation of his realistic portraits and abstractions. What makes Washington's method so unique is that he employs differing point sizes when stippling. Over a ten year period, his compositions changed from being dominated by white to black. His striking pieces are created using pen and India ink on paper.
