About this artwork
This new series of “Digital Paintings” in the style of old masters are complex photo montages telling about our present turbulent times. They are satirical, yet humanistic in form describing a world with Pandemics, Nuclear War threats, Refugee crises, and a nature in rapid collapse. But also about new rules and laws created by the “new masters of our universe “ They are based on paintings by Old masters like Caravaggio, Hieronymus Bosch, Titian,… Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo. Also incorporating modern and contemporary artworks by modern masters like Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Francis Bacon or Andy Warhol. We live in times of change, in cancel-culture, and division, with a new religion emerging. The worship of a collective lie and the erasing of the historical truth. Maybe we are actually living in the end of the world as we know it, or remember it.

Combining satirical and historical elements, Dellert mixes painting, collage and graphic art to convey both the deep darkness and shining hope of humanity.
