About this artwork
2 images of the dead Che and 2 off the Artist looking like the dead Che.
Ernesto "Che" Guevara 1928 - 1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylised visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. He was killed in a village called Vallegrande in Bolivia, betrayed by… everyone from Fidel Castro to his revolutionary friends and executed on orders by the CIA. The following days he was exhibited as a living artwork and in a way resembling the imaginary image of the dead Jesus Christ. People were posing for photo ops with the dead Che, and by doing so created unwillingly a strong Icon for prosperity.
Today his face can be found on T-shirts, Watches mugs, posters and even as action figures.
