About this artwork
"A Day by the Sea" was exhibited at ArtFair 2012 in Shanghai.
In my work, oil paints merge in a dance of abstract and semi-abstract shapes to convey an intense sense of movement and energy. Inspired by the symbolic meaning of nature, I sought to capture the depth and range of human emotions. Thomas Hain, a visual artist who focuses on painting and was inspired by a formative encounter with art in Italy. He experiments with the glazing technique on heavy, self-stretched canvases and creates relief-like surfaces by scratching, rolling and spatulas that create a tangible tension between form and color.
