About this artwork
Soulmate 2 is part of my ongoing cubism animal series—a geometric tribute to the emotional presence of animals, painted entirely by hand. At 70 x 100 cm, this acrylic portrait of a dog radiates loyalty, warmth, and silent understanding. Its body unfolds through vibrant polygonal planes of yellow, red, and blue, giving structure to feeling.
My new cubism transforms realism into emotion. The dog is not simply depicted—it is constructed from light,… angles, and affection. Each fractured shape contributes to a unified whole, where strength and softness coexist.
Unlike expressive human portraits, Soulmate 2 lets the animal speak through posture and presence. The result is both abstract and deeply personal.
As seen in my growing portfolio on Singulart, this piece continues her exploration of connection through form. Soulmate 2 is not just a painting of a dog—it is a portrait of devotion, built one shape at a time.
Born into a Vietnamese artistic lineage, Thuy Nguyen engages with mono prints, polygonal paintings, and ceramics. Utilizing an abstract approach, she combines intense pigmentation with intricate geometric forms, traversing both the traditional canvas and the digital realm to stage her exploration. Her work, a kaleidoscopic fusion of shapes and colors, pulses with the complexities of human identity and the quest for harmony with the natural world. Through her polygonal portraits, she reveals a riveting chronicle of emotions, reflecting the enduring spirit encapsulated in our continually evolving selves.
