About this artwork
Vastness captures the raw strength and grace of a horse—emerging from a fractured field of blue, gold, and white. At 90 x 120 cm, this hand-painted acrylic work transforms the powerful figure into a mosaic of motion, using my signature polygonal brushwork.
Here, my new cubism renders the horse not in static form, but as energy in transition. Every angular plane suggests muscle, movement, and the rhythm of gallop. The background dissolves into abstract… space, emphasizing freedom over containment—an animal defined by openness.
The title speaks to more than size. Vastness evokes the feeling of spirit unbound, of motion echoing across land and sky. It is not a portrait of a horse—it is the sensation of becoming one with its momentum.
As part of my series on Singulart, Vastness blends anatomy with atmosphere, crafting a powerful yet poetic homage to wild beauty and inner strength.
Born into a Vietnamese artistic lineage, Thuy Nguyen engages with mono prints, polygonal paintings, and ceramics. Utilizing an abstract approach, she combines intense pigmentation with intricate geometric forms, traversing both the traditional canvas and the digital realm to stage her exploration. Her work, a kaleidoscopic fusion of shapes and colors, pulses with the complexities of human identity and the quest for harmony with the natural world. Through her polygonal portraits, she reveals a riveting chronicle of emotions, reflecting the enduring spirit encapsulated in our continually evolving selves.
