About this artwork
In Quiet Distance, I place the figure in a space between movement and stillness—carried by wind, light, and the shifting landscape around her. I let the brushstrokes break and stretch the environment into fragments of warmth and motion, echoing that feeling of something just beyond reach. Even within that movement, she remains centered—present, aware, and quietly grounded.
The flowing fabric and wind-driven light become extensions of emotion, blurring… the boundary between the figure and her surroundings. What may feel distant is not separation, but perspective—a space where clarity begins to take shape.
There is a sense of release in this piece, a surrender to motion without losing self. Through Quiet Distance, I explore that subtle balance—between connection and detachment, movement and stillness—where distance becomes not an absence, but a deeper understanding of presence.
