About this artwork
“Surf & Speed” represents for me the moment when speed meets freedom.
A Porsche with a surfboard on the roof. Two worlds that at first glance hardly seem to fit together, and that's precisely why they work. The precision and dynamism of a sports car meets the lightness of surfing, sun, coast, and the feeling of simply taking off.
From a distance, the work appears almost photographic, yet the surface reveals layers, scratches, energy – traces… of my process. A visible dialogue between digital composition and handcrafted transfer.
I work extensively with my own photographs, digitally composing the motifs, printing them out, and transferring them to canvas using my self-developed transfer technique. Layer by layer, something emerges that is timeless to me: the combination of digital precision and tactile vibrancy.
