About this artwork
In this work, I sought to explore the complexity of the human soul, its contradictions and its shared emotions. With acrylic and aerosol spray, I gave life to a semi-abstract and figurative composition, where the face expresses more than a simple appearance; it tells a story of modern expressionism. « I like to represent the movement of the body while playing on sensitive emotional chords. »
Tropel is a French painter who hails from Rouen and has exhibited nationally as well as in Luxembourg and Belgium. His works are oriented towards suggestion and his approach is focused on the language and expression of the body. Inspired by calligraphy, he translates movement, gestures and lines through the deformation of the body, in order to extract ‘the essential’. Tropel works mainly with acrylic paints, as they challenge him to work in a quick and spontaneous manner.
