About this artwork
This painting was inspired by flowers I picked from my mother’s garden in Central Estonia. I love the wild, untamed character of her garden, especially the daisy-like flowers with their deep, warm colours.
Urmas Puhkan
Estonia
Urmas Puhkan, a painter and sculptor with a background in ceramics from the Estonian Academy of Arts, explores the boundaries of painting, ceramics, and sculpture as his primary mediums. His technique merges figurative elements with abstraction, employing acrylic and oil paints on plywood, shaped by a deep understanding of form and texture from his ceramic and sculptural practice. His emotive artworks invite viewers to see beyond reality, offering an atmospheric journey into personal interpretation, memory, and the mysterious beauty found in the ordinary.
