About this artwork
The "Ark" sculpture was created as a symbol of welcoming and protecting people, alluding to both Noah's Ark and the history of Venice, which offered its inhabitants refuge from persecution on the water. The idea for the sculpture arose during the intuitive design of the central walkway.
