About this artwork
Because of its colors and impressive flower shape, the hydrangea is a popular flower in floristry and also in painting. The colors of the hydrangea, especially the blue flowers, represent peace and harmony. The painter captured the delicate colors of the leaves and flowers on a large canvas. The leaves were partially painted in a slightly abstract way, the pink, white and blue flowers were painted together on one canvas in an artistic freedom. This…
work combines floral painting with some abstract elements.
The atmosphere, lighting mood and the juxtaposition of organic and more abstract forms are captured here in very delicate, expressive colors. The artist always begins with a translucent colored background. The image is then created by applying many layers of paint. The painter only uses high-quality artist's colors with high pigmentation; the luminosity of these colors is a prerequisite for an expressive colour effect.
