About this artwork
Embark on a sensory journey as you explore the colourful world of these two canvases, inspired by the enchanting beauty of Bulgarian roses. My cherished memories of my homeland Bulgaria infuse this artwork with profound emotion and meaning. Each canvas is a portal, inviting you to witness the dance of expressiveness, leading your eyes on an enchanting voyage through the colours and textures. The painting is an attempt for representation of the elusive… essence of the roses, transforming the canvas into an ethereal sanctuary of beauty and serenity.
« My works represent my instinctive colour theory and are a channel to my inner self. »
Vania Bouwmeester Pentcheva is an established Bulgarian artist based in the Netherlands who has exhibited her work nationally, as well as in South Africa. Moved and inspired by nature, including its presence in urban landscapes, she explores her emotions, memories and philosophical thoughts through the composition of abstract paintings full of dynamic shapes and colours. Textures and colours spontaneously arrive on the canvas, though structured layering is carefully thought out.
