About this artwork
You might be wondering why this painting is called "journey." It all has to do with the long painting process. This is one of my paintings that repeatedly drove me to despair during its creation. I just didn't really like it. I worked on it again and again, adding to it, reducing it, adding to it, reducing it, adding to it, reducing it, and so on. It really was a long journey until "journey" finally became what it is today. I let each finished painting… sink in for a while, and only then do I give it a name. The long creative process also led me to the title. Furthermore, I only realized later that many materials—sands and pigments from all over the world—are embedded in the painting. So the title "journey" does justice to the work of art in this sense, too.
From file folder to canvas art / Where opposites meet
Precisely because my professional path was rather “dry,” I always sought balance in creative work.
After several years of experience in silk and watercolor painting, I developed a desire to express my freedom more fully. This is how I discovered my current great passion in acrylic painting and mixed media. I learned the craft from internationally renowned artists. I continued to educate myself in my own studio.
My images suggest the traces of the long process it often takes to find inner peace. They depict a broad spectrum of life—moments of joy, courage, and lightheartedness, but sometimes also moments of frustration, vulnerability, and chaos.
I don't want to provoke with my art, but rather build a bridge - from a stressful everyday life to a world in which our soul can find peace.
