About this artwork
I played with the colors of Nepalese papers, fabrics and colored threads. I created continents and the links between them. It is the story of continents, all different with common or specific material and cultural riches. There are links between them but the journeys are sometimes possible and sometimes end abruptly without reaching the point of arrival. Véronique Masquelier uses a wide variety of mediums, ranging from collage to sewing, and benefits from a solid artistic training, including a degree in visual arts and eight years of fine arts studies. She mixes techniques and styles: watercolor, acrylic, pastels, cyanotype, X-rays, and recycled objects, creating eclectic compositions with expressionist and sometimes surrealist accents. Through her works, she aims to convey a communicative joy, immerse the viewer in a vibrant universe, and arouse in her a deep emotion and an irresistible desire to "dance" in her creations.
