About this artwork
Part of the Nalendece series, Aleris explores the relationship between natural materials and the transformations we experience as human beings. In the series, sculpted wood carries the marks of time and experience, while natural stones evoke our essence — what remains within us as we transform. Together, these materials create a dialogue between what life leaves upon us and what we choose to become.
Aleris was born from the artist’s attempt to give… form to a sensation: moments when consciousness seems to shift into a place of greater openness, allowing us to observe our lives from another perspective. In this state, everyday concerns seem to rearrange themselves, creating an almost physical sense of lightness, like floating. The work invites us to step back from daily life, reconnect with our deeper essence, and sense the greater presence that lives within us.
