About this artwork
The delicate beauty of a single flower in sepia blends the warmth of nostalgia with timeless elegance.
Back in 2012, when I created the Botanica series, I had pretty much "decided" to forget about art photography altogether. I even sold one of my Leicas—I'm fairly sure the money went toward buying a new refrigerator.
But one afternoon, I was totally fascinated by how the late sun hit a flower in my living room. I grabbed my camera and got so engrossed… in shooting that I started buying a new flower every single day just to photograph it. I shot them all on analog film, then later digitally manipulated the photos to create this beautiful series, called Botanica.
The artwork is printed on beautiful, 300g/m² thick, textured aquarelle paper with a natural white color. Unframed.
