About this artwork
Water is a source of life, a feminine entity that flows through the elements of Earth, also a feminine entity, being purified along the way and reborn into the light. In this sculpture, I explored the delicate interplay of organic forms and modern mediums, using resin, plaster, and epoxy to capture a moment of tranquil reflection.
The sculpture, made from a blend of epoxy resin and hydrostone, showcases my unique technique of mixing these materials… in a cast to create an abstract painting within a sculpture. This piece marks my first cast of "The Source" and my first experiment with a variety of cement colors mixed with hydrostone and epoxy resin. Some parts of the sculpture are transparent, while others are opaque, with LED lights adding a unique effect by shining through the transparency. The flowing lines and subdued lights evoke a sense of serenity, inviting the viewer to pause and immerse in introspection.
The original, made out of clay did not survive the mold process
